Just my two cents, but I have always considered that if a cheaper version exists in a different region (for example, the European version of Crusader of Centy), then it's a scam to make people pay $1000 for the US version. Especially if you get a region-free modified console, do you even need the overly expensive US version? Unless you're a scalper who is only interested in "investing", I don't see the point. It's a bit like Sega Saturn games. European versions are crazy expensive, while their Japanese counterparts are usually very affordable. If you can speak Japanese or even understand the basics (for an action game, it's enough), just get the the Japanese version.

I've been burned on pre-orders before. So I've been waiting on the release of this game. As of today it still says pre-order. Have you heard about a release date on this game yet, or have they scrapped it?

Fantasia is what i consider to be the worst game I have ever played. Like I even look at the cover art and Mickey just looks pissed to be affiliated with such garbage.

For a supposed retro gamer, I'm surprised that you didn't see how Final Vendetta is made to look like an old school SNK beat-em-up. Even the tutorial with the four buttons is an SNK staple.

Hey Mike, Off topic, but have you heard of The Eldritch Monarch? It's an awesome looking Genesis/Mega Drive game that's on Kickstarter right now. Only 6 days left and they're pretty far from their target and could use a push. It's got a playable prototype. Any plans to cover it? To be clear, I have nothing to do with the game, I only just discovered it. It's got big Flashback/Another World/Prince of Persia vibes. Seems cool.

I wish the box was more in line with other NTSC SNES games. Otherwise, it's quite annoying to display with your other games.

Little fun platformer. I still play it from time to time.

That stage select music at 4:45 is so bad and grating. Otherwise the rest sounds good, hopefully that part at least can be fixed.

Their ZPF demo page has been 404 all day. Not a good start. I also don't trust Kickstarter, as I've been burned too many times. The last few, Paprium (watermelon) - took over a million dollars in crowdfunding ($850K in KS alone!) The owner (Fonzie) took the money and ran), and more recently, Bushiden (which looked incredible, has just lost their publisher. They haven't made good on any of their goals. The game was supposed to have shipped in 2021!.. So I consider that another loss. KS just isn't guaranteed that you'll get anything, other than a "thanks!", and should never be used as a way to pre-order a game. IMO of course.

The TG16 original was clearly inspired by Mega Man. That was a cool game too. A bit of a different mechanic than Mega Man, but a lot of fun, and a very nice looking game too.

It's nice seeing this and Cooly Skunk both getting basically new releases for SNES. Would still love to see a lot more actual brand new SNES games though. There's a few in the works, mostly ports from Genesis, but it deserves many more and indeed more of its own games too. And it deserves some that actually show off its full capabilities as well, because that's not even remotely been the case with most of the stuff we've seen for it in recent times. I mean, there's some solid games and all, but nothing to blow people's socks off. And the SNES is still 100% capable of blowing people's socks off, more than I think most people actually realise and certainly more than some would ever admit. I welcome all these games though. And I'll just keep my fingers crossed for even more and even better in the future too.

The concept looks pretty cool. I also like that the Shockman trillogy is available on modern plattforms. We can't get enough of retro games being available for direct purchases. The dying of physical media part is super depressing. But you're right. The DVD/blu ray section at on of my local retailers has gotten so small. I checked Netflix recently and they removed one of my favorite shows IZombie. Which wouldn't be so bad if I could just buy a DVD set. But season 4 and 5 never got a physical release. I hate this dark timeline we're living in.
